There are huge energy saving opportunities in the retail industry.
If the entire retail industry implemented the right energy saving solutions, it could save upwards of $3 billion every single year. At Energy Network, we’ve set out to help you cut your energy costs to improve your reputation and save money, and in our last blog, we started giving you tips to help you overcome your sustainability challenges. Keep reading for more helpful tips:
#2. Stay in communication with your store managers.
Store managers are your advocates and leaders in their own individual communities, and since they live and work in those communities, they may know things you don’t. For example, store managers often know about composting, recycling and energy efficiency in their own communities and shopping centers, and they may have information that is useful to you. That’s why it’s always important to stay in open communication with your store managers and be open to their suggestions.
#3. Get your associates excited about energy management.
Unfortunately, there is no way to police every store to ensure they are in compliance with your energy management solutions, and that’s why it’s so important to empower your employees and get them excited about saving energy. One good way to do this is by starting competitions within your districts and develop a rewards system for the stores that save the most energy.
