There are so many misconceptions about energy management!
The world is going green, and as a result, many companies are looking for a way to cut energy costs and become more efficient. Because energy management is a fairly new and up-and-coming field, there are a lot of misconceptions about it. At Energy Network, we know how important it is for you understand the truth about energy management. That’s why we’ve come up with the following list of common business energy management myths:
Myth #1. Energy management is only applicable for large corporations, not small businesses.
We often hear about large corporations spending millions of dollars in energy management. We’re here to tell you that you don’t have to spend a whole lot of money to get the energy management you need, and it doesn’t matter how big or small your business is, you can still save every month with energy management.
Myth #2. Being energy efficient is the same as lowering your energy usage.
Lowering your energy usage is a great way to conserve energy but it’s very different than energy efficiency. Being energy efficient is about using the same amount of energy in a more productive way. Both energy efficiency and energy conservation are important for energy management.
Myth #3. Always leave your HVAC system on to save money.
Many small business owners believe that they should leave their HVAC system on all the time to avoid the surge that comes when they turn on the system. There’s no point in cooling or heating an empty office, and you will spend a lot more on running your HVAC all the time than turning it off and back on again.
